WCPW Loaded Episode 11: 10 Awesome Moments
Refuse To Lose was the mantra of Joseph Conners before the iPPV itself...
On 6th October, What Culture Pro Wrestling explodes onto pay-per-view. The Refuse To Lose on iPPV features some of the biggest matches in the promotion to date. It will also be the night on which the likes of Kurt Angle and Cody Rhodes make their WCPW debuts, facing Joe Hendry and Doug Williams respectively.
Right now, Joseph Conners could care less about that.
The reigning WCPW Champion has a date with destiny himself, as he comes face-to-face with the ever popular Martin Kirby. Last week, General Manager Adam Pacitti watched in horror as Kirby literally handcuffed himself to the WCPW ring. Left with no other option, Pacitti relented and announced that his least favourite wrestler would indeed get a crack at the top title in the company.
This week's Loaded was jam-packed full of matches that could easily have graced the Refuse To Lose card. Nixon Newell defended her WCPW Women's Title against both Alex Windsor and the debuting Katarina Leigh, Joe Hendry faced The Primate, and there was also a Triple Threat Tag-Team bout pitting Johnny Moss and Liam Slater against Moustache Mountain and Los Perspectivas.
In the brutal main event, Joseph Conners took on Drew Galloway. That match was responsible for some, yet not all, of the awesome moments...
10. Katarina Leigh Mixes It With Female Young Guns
Before either Alex Windsor or the WCPW Women's Champion Nixon Newell even fostered dreams of entering the squared circle, Katarina Leigh was earning rave reviews for her in-ring work. A true veteran of the UK scene, Leigh also had runs in WWE as Katie Lea Burchill and TNA as the mysterious Winter. Now, Katarina has brought that wealth of experience to WCPW.
For those fans who remember her work as Nikita (another moniker in Leigh's considerable body of work) on the British scene, it would have been a pure joy to see her talents recognised on Loaded. Better yet, seeing Katarina mix it up with the future of women's wrestling in this country must have been special.
Never one to be phased by any polite reception to a new stomping ground, Leigh stormed right into the Triple Threat affair. Her mind was firmly on becoming WCPW Women's Champion, surely knowing what that would mean right before the Refuse To Lose iPPV.
For Windsor and Newell, they couldn't afford to revel in the moment of matching up against a true British wrestling treasure.
