WCW Refused To Do Goldberg's CRAZY Streak-Ending Pitch

Goldberg had something special in mind to end his winning streak, but WCW turned it down.

Goldberg wanted his streak-ending loss to Kevin Nash at WCW's Starrcade 1998 pay-per-view to look very different.

The WWE Hall Of Famer told Sports Illustrated that he pitched a "different" cattle prod for the run-in finish involving Scott Hall. WCW went with a standard taser, but Bill fancied using a much larger unit that "shot out, stuck into you and lit you up".

WCW chiefs said no to this idea. They were maybe worried that Hall would look like a cosplay Ghostbuster had he jogged down the aisle with such a thing in his hands; actually, it's probably for the best that nobody cracked that joke back in '98. God only knows what kind of pop culture tie-in the company might've tried.

Seriously though, WCW were only trying to be safe by rigging the much-smaller taser.

Goldberg admits he was maybe being "unrealistic" by expecting a full-on cattle prod for the pay-per-view, but he also thought it "was going to be the coolest thing ever". The previously-dominant squash match machine was left rather disappointed by the end result.

Basically, WCW would still be around today had Hall carted out the prod. Ahem.
