What Are WWE's Back-Up Plans If Florida Shuts Down?
You always need a Plan B...
Vince McMahon confirmed in WWE's Q1 2020 earnings call that the company has back-up plans just in case Florida shuts them down.
The likes of WWE, AEW and the UFC have all made Florida their second home for the foreseeable future after Governor DeSantis announced that sports leagues with national audiences were essential businesses. In doing this, Florida has now become one of the few places on the planet where major sports are permitted to take place, just as long as the companies are practising strict social distancing and operating on closed sets.
However, with the situation changing on a daily basis, some have questioned what would happen to WWE if Florida reversed their decision in the coming weeks.
When asked what WWE would do in the event of a Florida shut down and if they had a back-up plan to combat the situation, McMahon answered by saying, 'Yes, we do. A number of them, and a number of states that would welcome us.'
There's no news as to which states the WWE Chairman is alluding to here, but the company have reportedly already filmed matches for the upcoming Money in the Bank PPV on May 10 at their WWE HQ in Stamford, CT.
