What Conditions Did MJF Impose On Wardlow Ahead Of AEW Double Or Nothing?
MJF goes back in time to pull out stipulations ahead of Double or Nothing match.
With Maxwell Jacob Friedman, there's no such thing as a free lunch.
MJF laid out the conditions for Wardlow to actually get his match for his freedom during a contract signing on AEW Dynamite Wednesday. Friedman got the hero's welcome on Long Island and really leaned into the babyface reaction, like Bret Hart would in Canada. To his credit, Wardlow didn't even try to counter it, electing to remain silent and just agree to the stipulations.
The first condition, which will take place on next week's Dynamite, is that Wardlow must endure 10 lashes from MJF in a callback (which Friedman referenced) to Cody Rhodes enduring 10 lashes from him and Wardlow two years ago. And then (in another callback to that 2020 rivalry), if Wardlow can endure that punishment, he must face Shawn Spears in a steel cage match (Cody faced Wardlow).

Only then would Wardlow get his Double or Nothing match against MJF, but in addition to Mr. Mayhem's freedom being on the line, if he loses, Wardlow can never sign with AEW.
Things naturally descended into chaos when they removed Wardlow's handcuffs so he could sign the contract, which he did -- right before wrecking a dozen security officers before powerbombing "Smart" Mark Sterling through the table after the attorney interceded to save MJF from a beatdown.
We'll see what's in store for Wardlow next week, whether MJF tries to game the lashings a bit to really put the screws to his employee.
