Dave Meltzer has said via Wrestling Observer Radio that he's been unable to get word on El Grande Americano/Ludwig Kaiser's injury status following a critically-lauded 'Mask vs. Mask' match with Original El Grande Americano/Chad Gable at AAA's Noche de Los Grandes event on 30 May.

The Observer head has asked if Kaiser was injured during the bout, but WWE sources haven't been forthcoming with information. So, it appears they're keeping cards very close to the chest on Americano. That's interesting, and it has some speculating that something is brewing.

Or, maybe they're just not talking to Meltzer. Who knows?

The bout between old and new El Grande Americano incarnations was extremely physical and gripping though, so it's definitely possible that Kaiser was hurt before seizing the win. Since shedding his mask and kissing goodbye to the gimmick, Gable has returned to mainline WWE television with a bang.

He was seen speaking with GM Nick Aldis on last week's episode of SmackDown, then apologised to Rey Fenix. The new AAA Cruiserweight Champ sent Chad to Raw for follow up conversations with his brother Penta, Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio.

Then, on Monday's flagship, Gable rescued the trio from a beatdown at the hands of Rusev and Ethan Page - Rusev had ripped Mysterio's mask off, but Chad handed it back to the lucha legend as a peace offering to cement his babyface turn.

Fingers crossed that Kaiser isn't hurting or injured. It'd be a shame if he was unable to follow up on such a landmark win in AAA.
