In a development that is shocking to no one who follows wrestling, the heels gained the advantage for the women's WarGames match this weekend at WWE Survivor Series when Rhea Ripley defeated Asuka on Raw.
The first main roster women's WarGames match will feature a 5-on-5 battle between Damage CTRL and their teammates Ripley and Nikki Cross, versus Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Mia Yim (now Michin) and a partner-to-be-named-later.
Whereas the NWA/WCW iteration of WarGames typically had the advantage decided by a coin toss, NXT and WWE have defaulted to a TV match between participants to determine who gets the 2-on-1, 3-on-2, etc. advantage. Of course, the match style really only works if the villains have the edge, so it's more a question of how the heels win.
On Monday, Ripley had her first main roster match since June and defeated Asuka cleanly in a fast-paced, heavy-hitting match between two of the division's best. The result itself shouldn't be a surprise, and given that Rhea could be a WrestleMania 39 challenger for Belair's title, her winning cleanly also shouldn't shock people.

Meanwhile, Belair announced on Monday night that she will reveal their team's fifth member on SmackDown this Friday, so there won't be a shock reveal at Survivor Series.
