In the wake of seemingly taking Cody Rhodes' main event spot at WrestleMania XL and the majority of the WWE Universe turning on 'The Great One', it was noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that The Rock decided to step to one side and allow 'The American Nightmare' the chance to Finish the Story.

This all occurred over the weekend that followed that infamous SmackDown segment between Rock, Rhodes, and Reigns on February 2, with 'Rocky' also pitching his heel turn and the concept of teaming with his cousin against Rhodes and Seth Rollins on Night One of this year's 'Showcase of the Immortals'.

Nothing has been confirmed when it comes to that potential Night One show-closer at this time, of course. But Dave Meltzer did state that if that match does go down, that was actually Rock's idea.

In another interesting note, it was also said that there is a lot more going on behind the scenes that still hasn't come out to the general public yet when it comes to this ever-changing and hugely fascinating situation.

The Rock would go on to make his first in-ring appearance on a WWE show since turning last night, donning a flamboyant shirt/vest and firing shots at those watching SmackDown in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Finally... The Rock has dusted off his glorious heel ways, and it was reportedly all his idea.
