Austin Aries was reported to be backstage at this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, sparking all kinds of rumours on why, exactly, the former WWE, Impact Wrestling, and ROH man was in the house.
Per Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, Aries wasn't meeting with AEW to discuss signing with the promotion or anything of that nature. No, 'A-Double' was there with business partner Diamond Dallas Page, with the duo trying to negotiate the promotion into investing in a stem cell treatment enterprise that both men are currently working on.
The writeup offers no extrapolation on this business and what it could entail for AEW, whose interest levels remain unclear.
Aries posted the following to Instagram the other day:-
DDP being backstage at AEW isn't particularly big news, given his friendship with Cody and occasional appearances on Dynamite. The veteran even wrestled for the company on 15 January, teaming with Dustin Rhodes and QT Marshall in a defeat to MJF, The Butcher, and The Blade.
Aries, meanwhile, was most recently seen competing for MLW, though he hasn't appeared for the promotion since November's Saturday Night SuperFight event, where he lost to Teddy Hart.
