WWE took the unexpected step of turning Dolph Ziggler babyface on last night's episode of Raw, scripting the veteran to attack Theory after a main event pitting the 2022 Money in the Bank winner and Seth Rollins against Riddle and Bobby Lashley.

A suit-clad Ziggler hit ringside during the bout. Dolph watched on from ringside, not saying a word, before pushing Theory's feet off the ropes during an illegal pin attempt on Riddle.

Theory was then pinned after eating an RKO from Riddle. Afterwards, the briefcase-holder was wiped out by a Ziggler superkick, with Dolph taking the ring to close the broadcast.

This came just one month after Ziggler and Dirty Dawgs partner Robert Roode returned to television in a confrontation with Omos and MVP. Seemingly, this has been abandoned.

Unpacking the return on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that last night was, indeed, a face turn for Ziggler. WWE wants Theory to wrestle Dolph as the latter is regarded as a good, experienced guy for the 24-year-old to work with as he develops. The promotion is determined to make something of Theory and Ziggler, theoretically, is an appropriate person to use in a role opposite him.
