Lance Archer has conducted a new interview with talkSPORT's Alex McCarthy, in which he reveals that the extra effort that All Elite Wrestling officials put into chasing him was the difference-maker when deciding where to sign earlier this year.

Per McCarthy, Archer "knew that he was signing for AEW by the time he faced Jon Moxley at Wrestle Kingdom 14 (4 January)." 'The Murderhawk Monster' had entertained several offers from elsewhere but no promotion was as attentive as AEW, with all kinds of people within the company reaching out to time, "from talent to execs."

26 February brought news that Archer had officially signed a multi-year deal with the promotion. His first appearance came on Dynamite's 11 March episode and Archer has since carved an impressive path of destruction, first destroying Marko Stunt and Alan Angels in brutal squash matches, then overcoming Colt Cabana in the TNT Championship Tournament's first round.

Tonight's episode of Dynamite sees Jake 'The Snake' Roberts' charge face off with sentimental veteran favourite Dustin Rhodes with a spot in the tourney finals on the line. If victorious, a match with Cody - whom Archer and Roberts have been chasing since arriving in AEW - could be on the cards, provided the younger Rhodes fells Darby Allin.
