During a recent interview with GalaxyCon’s Rock Around the Ring show, WWE legend Rey Mysterio revealed that he wouldn't want his son Dominic to retire him from the ring.

Not many would've seen that one coming.

Mysterio explained himself by saying he feels like the "torch has already been passed". Rather definitively, the masked hero also said that he'd "hate" for Dominic to work his father's final match - maybe Rey thinks that'd be too much pressure for his boy, or perhaps it'd be too emotional for the family generally.

The word "hate" kinda' rules out a retirement 'Father vs. Son' scenario ever happening, especially if the elder Mysterio plans to call it a day for real afterwards.

Rey did say that he's looking forward to stepping foot in the ring with Dominic someday, but definitely doesn't want that to be his final bout. The lucha legend didn't elaborate or reveal who he would want his last match ever to be against.

Knowing WWE, it'll be 'King' Corbin. No, only joking.

Dominic has played a part in Rey's ongoing feud with Seth Rollins lately on Raw. It's surely only a matter of time before he works some sort of tag match with his dad on TV or pay-per-view.
