Why WrestleMania 36 Surpassed All Expectations

Well, despite calls to postpone or even outright cancel it, WrestleMania 36 is now in the record books.

To say this was a most unique edition of WWE’s annual Showcase of the Immortals extravaganza would be an understatement at the level of saying that Hulk Hogan liked the occasional blast on a tanning bed.

For better or for worse, Vince McMahon did the most Vince McMahon of things, as he chose to ignore global chaos and uncertainty, and power ahead with WrestleMania 36 from the confines of the empty WWE Performance Center and a couple of other choice locations – and you know what, it wasn’t actually all that bad.

While the argument of whether ‘Mania should have taken place at all this year is something we can debate until the proverbial cows come home, the two-day Granddaddy of Them All turned out to be far better than it had any right to be.
