Why WWE Are Not Happy With Lana

Lana's Instagram brand deal may have been 'the straw that broke the camel's back'.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials aren't too happy with Lana's current Instagram brand deal with Bang Energy Drinks.

It's been widely reported over the last 24 hours that WWE are cracking down on their talents using third party platforms, such as Twitch and Cameo. Now, Meltzer has revealed on the Wrestling Observer message board that Lana's relationship with Bang Energy Drinks on Instagram was 'the straw that broke the camel's back' when it came to enforcing the new rules.

Over the last few months, the 'Ravishing Russian' has been seen advertising the drinks on her Instagram. Lana also promotes Fashion Nova on her account, along with other separate brands which aren't connected to WWE.

Lana has recently seen her character embrace her 'social media influencer' personality away from the ring, which makes WWE's decision to effectively ban their stars from using certain third party platforms off the back of the likes of Lana being involved with outside sponsors such an odd move.

More details on the situation were rumoured to be coming once the performers met up for the next set of TV tapings, which would've been last night's SmackDown and Monday's Raw. So, we could hear more news regarding Vince McMahon's third party platform crackdown in the very near future.
