Why WWE Wrote Sheamus Off Television
Real reason WWE has wiped Sheamus off SmackDown with a kayfabe injury.
Sheamus was written off WWE television last week for good reason - the former World Champion is getting married.
PWInsider has confirmed as much. Sheamus is to marry partner Isabella Revilla this weekend, with the ceremony set to take place in New York City. Drew McIntyre, who will be at the wedding, is going to miss part of WWE's ongoing European tour as a result of this - including a home country show in Glasgow, Scotland.
McIntyre is currently advertised for tonight's SmackDown in St. Louis, Missouri on local listings. Sheamus isn't, though his Brawling Brutes partners Butch and Ridge Holland will wrestle The Bloodline's Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn on the show.
The Bloodline brutally assaulted Sheamus on last Friday's SmackDown, using chairs to destroy one of the Irishman's arms against the ring steps. WWE has since announced a kayfabe injury for Sheamus:-
BREAKING: Due to the attack earlier tonight by #TheBloodline, @WWESheamus has a non-displaced fracture near his elbow and is still under observation. #SmackDown

Sheamus has emerged as one of WWE's most widely-praised in-ring performers in recent months. He and GUNTHER have engaged in a couple of high-level Intercontinental Title fights, while on a wider scale, the Brawling Brutes vs. Bloodline rivalry has been a regular source of good-to-great matches weekly.
