With John Cena at Comic Con Wales this past weekend in Cardiff, many have wondered whether the 16-time World Champion will return to Wales' capital for the upcoming Clash at the Castle premium live event next month.

As picked up on by Wrestling Inc., that particular topic actually came up during a panel chat Cena did at CCW.

For those hoping to see Big Match John make a special appearance at Clash at the Castle, it's best not to get too excited at that prospect.

"I've been coming over to Cardiff for 15+ years. I'm not going at be at Clash. I wish I was."

Of course, things could always change by the time Clash at the Castle rolls around on 3 September - plus Cena could also be purposely keeping just such an appearance a surprise - but it's best to assume that Clash at the Castle won't be featuring the Cenation Leader in any capacity.

Nowadays spending the bulk of his time in Hollywood, John Cena hasn't competed on WWE programming since his SummerSlam 2021 loss to Roman Reigns. Cena would make a special appearance to team with Rey and Dominik Mysterio against the Bloodline in a non-televised bout following the 10 September '21 episode of SmackDown, though, and the last time the one-time Doctor of Thuganomics was on WWE TV in any form or fashion was 27 June of this year as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of Cena's main roster debut.
