Very gripping half hour clash. The Rock, back for his first singles match in eight years played the role of babyface to utter perfection, authentically selling his pain before finding his way back into the match with short, electrifying bursts. In particular, the manner in which he slowly passed out to the STF was masterful and really put over the hold despite its phoniness. Cena, to his credit, also sold his exasperation brilliantly and his reactions to both the crowd and the resolve of his opponent were first rate. The finish came when Cena attempted to take out The Rock with the people's elbow but his confidence got the better of him as he complacently took his eye off the game, became too caught up in the electricity of the audience before bouncing the ropes and falling into The Rock's arms for a definitive Rock bottom to finish the match and send the crowd home happy. The wrestling itself lacked fluidity with some very poorly timed transitions and sloppy manoveurs but given the circumstances this was perhaps to be expected. I'm sure they could raise the quality in this department now that they've got a feel for one other inside the ring. A rematch seems like a certainty now given this result.
