Wrestlemania 29 Live: The Streak Extends To 21-0 As CM Punk Rests In Peace

By Matt Aspin /

The Undertaker's legendary undefeated streak continued on tonight after he pinned CM Punk in the middle of the ring. Neither man performed at their best as nagging injuries kept them from achieving 100 percent fitness however it made no difference to either man's work rate and although this was no Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels or Undertaker Vs Triple H for that matter this was still a worthy addition to the Dead Man's run of top notch matches on WWE's biggest Pay Per View of the year. Punk began the match by slapping 'Taker in the face which only made The Dead Man more determined to destroy Punk and avenge his late friend Paul Bearer who - perhaps unwisely - had become the focal point of this entire feud. After several near misses including Punk kicking out of a Tombstone and Undertaker doing his classic 'sit up' routine while in the middle of Punk's painful Anaconda Vice the man from Death Valley nailed his second painful looking Tombstone to get the 1, 2, 3 extending The Streak to 21 and 0. Hats off to Paul Heyman who's ringside theatrics were an absolute joy to watch. Both men will now disappear from television to recoup from injuries. Punk will of course return soon but who knows whether we'll see 'Taker again this time next year when Wrestlemania turns 30.
