Former WWE, New Japan, MLW and All Japan star Davey Boy Smith Jr made his first in-ring WWE appearance for 10 years right before last night's SmackDown went live.

Smith, the son of WWE legend the British Bulldog, teamed with Austin Theory to beat Odyssey Jones and Daniel Vidot in tag-team action. It's unclear whether or not the company plans to team Smith Jr and Theory together full time, or if this was a one-off.

One thing's for sure: Smith's return isn't a one-off deal. He confirmed during a post-show promo on WWE's YouTube channel that he's back for good. The 35 year old is best-remembered for his run alongside Tyson Kidd and Natalya as The Hart Dynasty.

Together, Smith and Kidd won both the WWE and old World Tag-Team Titles; Smith also bagged three runs as IWGP Tag Champ alongside current AEW star Lance Archer in NJPW.

Don't be shocked if Davey Boy shows up on camera for next week's episode either. The fact that WWE handed Smith some YouTube minutes to discuss his comeback is a promising sign that he'll be used properly going forwards.
