Wrestling Legend "Understands" WWE Hall Of Fame Exclusion
Does this ex-WWE star deserve to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame? He has his own thoughts.
Ex-WWE and WCW star Lex Luger has told fans he "understands" why he hasn't been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
Speaking via his podcast, Lex said he's unsure of WWE's criteria for HOF inclusion. Luger definitely thinks his body of work speaks for itself, but acknowledges that several controversial incidents away from wrestling might've hurt his chances of being honoured.
The multi-time World Champion and ex-creative heir apparent to Hulk Hogan doesn't lie awake at night sweating over the Hall Of Fame though. He does understand why wrestling fans who enjoyed his work want to see it happen someday, but Lex says he'll "still look back fondly on [his] career and what [he] did accomplish" regardless.
Luger became persona non grata in WWE circles after leaving the then-WWF for WCW without much warning in 1995. The company didn't take Lex back after acquiring remnants of the competition in 2001. He was also present during the grim demise of Miss. Elizabeth, and that might've prompted WWE to keep their distance.
Lex is in a better place these days, being fair. Will he ever become a HOF'er? Watch this space.
