Stats: 1x champion (34-day reign) While Dennis Knights WWE career is probably better known for his part as one half of the two-time tag team champion, The Godwinns, he makes the cut on this list for the offbeat way in which he acquired the European Championship. By 1999, Knight had been rechristened Mideon by the Undertaker and his Ministry of Darkness, and was primarily partnering with the rotund Viscera. But Mideon back-doored his way to solo glory in a June, 1999 episode of Raw, when he found the European Championship in Shane McMahons duffel bag. McMahon had retired as champion a few months earlier during an episode of Sunday Night Heat, so Mideons discovery and subsequent defenses brought the title back into circulation. Of course, winning a title via discovery in a duffel bag, is not a remotely effective way to put the championship over as a hot commodity. Fortunately, Mideon dropped the strap 34 days later to then-Intercontinental Champion DLo Brown at Fully Loaded, making DLo WWEs first Eurocontinental title holder. From there, the belt started to gain some cache again, before it was eventually buried and discontinued three years later.
