WWE: 10 Candidates For Coaches On Revamped 'Tough Enough'

By Graham Matthews /

6. Ricky Steamboat

A legend in the wrestling business, Ricky Steamboat has served as a WWE trainer for several years now. He helped train talent when WWE's developmental territory was still Florida Championship Wrestling and has continued to today in NXT. He has played a part in grooming future stars in recent years and his contributions to the industry have not gone unnoticed. While Steamboat wasn't an official coach during the latest season of Tough Enough, he worked with the competition's two finalists, Andy Leavine and Luke Robinson, before their big match together during the season finale. He commented in a video that the show's eventual winner Leavine was progressing nicely, but this was of course before Leavine was suspended and later fired by WWE less than a year later. Regardless, Steamboat has an eye for talent and has been working with the rookies for so long that he deserves a pot in the latest incarnation of Tough Enough. He's been in the business long enough and has such invaluable knowledge that not putting him on the show in some fashion would be a mistake. The Tough Enough competitors could certainly learn a thing or two from this WWE Hall of Famer.
