WWE: 10 Reasons We Love Trish Stratus

5. Retiring As Women's Champion At Unforgiven 2006

What a way to go out. Trish's last match as a full time WWE performer took place at the Unforgiven 2006 pay-per-view in her hometown of Toronto and it was against her biggest rival, Lita, who went into the match as Women's Champion. Everybody knew Trish was retiring. To WWE's credit, they made a big deal about it and it was emotional seeing her on Raw the week before in MSG as well as in the build up to this match with Lita. They had a very entertaining 12 minute match that went back and forth. Trish won the match using a move she didn't regularly use: the Sharpshooter that Bret Hart made famous. The crowd absolutely loved it. They gave her a massive ovation, everybody was standing and you could see the tears in her eyes as the moment overwhelmed her. What's also cool about Unforgiven 2006 is that a couple of weeks after that, Trish got married too. It was a huge month of her life.
