8. Jimmy Hart Was The Highest-Paid Manager... Technically

"The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart came away from SummerSlam 1991 with the most lettuce in his managerial pocket, bringing home a $10,000 pay-day. Of course, he did accompany three wrestlers/teams ringside that evening: The Mountie, The Natural Disasters, and the then-WWF Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys. Compared to the next-highest paid manager- Sensational Sherri, who made $7000 for just one match- his per-match pay-off is not-that-great. Rounding out the managers are: Slick at $3200; Coach (journeyman John Tolos) at $3000 for managing the Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect; Mr. Fuji at $2200; and Andre the Giant, who was technically the corner-man for the Bushwackers vs. The Natural Disasters. Andre's base was less than Jimmy's ($7500 to Hart's $8000) but Andre's draw was $500, so ultimately The Eighth Wonder Of The World did make the most, but that was more of an appearance fee than a managerial fee. Still, Andre and Jimmy were both paid more than the men in the match they were both ringside for. (The Bushwackers and Typhoon made $7000 each; Earthquake made $7000 with a $200 draw.)

Additional Fun Fact: The only other person on the payroll to make a $500 draw was road agent Terry Garvin. Everyone else who earned a draw made $200, except for Irwin R. Schyster (who wisely avoided additional payroll taxes by doing so) and Tony Garea, a road agent who, at this time, was best known for doing a terrible job at breaking up fights outside of the ring; IRS and Garea each made $100. Several of the top stars no draw whatsoever.
