Plagued with an internal struggle over whether or not to interfere on HHH's behalf in this Hell in a Cell match, Michaels would remain as an active bystander for the majority of this classic match. As usual, the suspense would rise as both competitors began to cart out their finishers. In addition, HHH brought the weapons as he introduced chairs and his signature sledgehammer into the already gruesome contest. No longer able to watch his friend struggle with the onslaught of Taker at WrestleMania, Michaels finally broke down and kicked Taker in the face. Immediately after, Taker was caught by HHH who delivered an additional pedigree. Alas, even with the odds of that deadly combination against him, Taker once again kicked out while Michaels went ballistic at what he had just seen. Taker would go on to win and commence the supposed "end of an era." With DX throwing just about everything at him, this match might be the finest example of Undertaker's straight-up invisibility at Wrestlemania.
