The idea behind the character was that The Goon was kicked out of the sport of hockey for being too rough. A "goon" is a hockey term for a guy that fights for the majority of his career. The video showing The Goon playing hockey was hilarious as Vince McMahon was freaking out as we saw the Goon do various cheap moves in hockey like a crosscheck and a slash. What was also ridiculous was that he didn't wrestle in wrestling boots. He had footwear that was hockey skates, but they weren't really skates. It just looked like that. The gimmick only lasted for a few months in 1996 and then he was gone from WWE. Remember WrestleMania 17? The Goon was a part of that. At least he can say he was a part of the PPV that I say was the best ever.
