The latest chapter in the never-ending feud between Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at Battleground was poetry in motion from start to finish. Even with The Shield Triple Threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as the main event, this match was the one that had everyone talking by the end of the night. Counter after counter created sequence after sequence of pure wresting bliss. The Washington crowd were heavily invested in the fight, with chants of "This is awesome!" and "Fight forever!", and even a standing ovation breaking out during the match.

Expect the current WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens to accept the award. Ever willing to badmouth Zayn, Owens will likely mention how he's gone on to greater things while Sami's spent the last few weeks getting destroyed by Braun Strowman. It does raise questions as to why a man who is capable of putting on Match of the Year performances is having such little impact in the WWE, but who knows, maybe winning this Slammy will be the start of something big for Sami Zayn.
