WWE officials bizarrely "forgot" that Angel and Humberto are actually real-life cousins.

Angel dished the details on this news during an interview with Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, and admitted that he couldn't believe the company also forgot that he'd pitched a tag-team alongside Humberto in the first place - WWE figured that shoving the pair together was their own idea.

It...wasn't.

Los Lotharios was the brainchild of Angel, not WWE's creative team. Still, the overlooked midcarders were willing to let the writers have that one if it meant they could finally work some tags on TV. WWE experimented with the duo on 'C' show Main Event before bringing them to top-tier programming.

Angel laughed as he recalled wondering if WWE were being serious or not when they expressed surprise that he and Humberto are related. "They're supposed to know that - they hired us", he said.

Los Lotharios started slow, but looked like it might work out well for the duo. They had some cracking bouts vs. New Day, for example, then WWE lost interest. Since those February showcases, Angel and Humberto have been largely jobbed out in short matches.
