WWE Extreme Rules was going to see a Triple Threat Ladder Match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Jack Swagger, former World Champion Alberto Del Rio and the current champion Dolph Ziggler in what promised to be an interesting showcase of the three superstars talents. The anticipation for the match, compared to some WHC bouts in recent memory was quite high as the superstars would no doubt have some time to strut their stuff with the absence of people like CM Punk. However soon it became clear that due to a concussion Dolph Ziggler would not be able to compete in the match and the bout was changed to a #1 contender's match for the title between Del Rio and Swagger with an 'I Quit' stipulation and with that the interest waned. Many people believe that the 'I Quit' stipulation is a waste of time and has no place in the modern WWE when there are stipulations like Last Man Standing and Hell in a Cell that have similar amounts of brutality. Some believe that the match is too slow and the audience doesn't get invested in it the same way as it does with other stipulations- particularly in this age of PG. However, I don't think it should be consigned to the trash just yet. Here's a few reasons how it can be saved...
