WWE: 5 Reasons To Be Excited About Tag Team Division

By Rob Sellars /

Once upon a time the WWE's tag team division was one full of exciting superstars, intriguing story-lines and pulsating matches. Unfortunately, it is a long time since the tag teams had their moment in the spotlight. However rumours abound that one of Triple H's main intentions now that he works more behind the scenes than in the ring, is that he intends to reinvigorate the ailing tag team division. In recent years the tag team division has been a neutered shadow of its former self. Take for example the former champs, Kofi Kingston and R-Truth. They held the belts for many months, yet in that time had no significant story-lines and barely garnered any attention. Since the days of the epic battles between The Hardy's, The Dudleyz and Edge & Christian, it has been a downward slide for the tag teams. Little time was granted to them on the flagship shows, they were at best filler for PPVs, and more often than not tag teams were just two single superstars thrust together because they had nothing else to do. Yet all of a sudden the tag team has had new life breathed into it. At present there are two major stories going on in the tag team division: an ongoing tag team tournament across Raw, Smackdown and new show Main Event, to determine the new Number One Contenders; and the story of Kane and Daniel Bryan. So with the tag team division finally looking interesting again, here are five reasons to be excited.
