WWE: 5 Reasons To Be Excited About Tag Team Division

2. Tag Team Tournament for No.1 Contenders

A couple of weeks ago Booker T, Smackdown General Manager, announced that a tag team tournament would determine the new Number One contenders for the Tag Team Titles. That in itself is a good sign. Until recently, there were not enough genuine tag teams to put together a couple of matches, let alone a full tournament. Suddenly WWE is packed with promising tag teams who are thirsty for a crack at the titles. And the matches have been top draw so far too. The first round of matches were as follows: Team Rhodes Scholars (Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow) vs. Jimmy and Jey Uso; Santino Marella and Zack Ryder vs. Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd; Kofi Kingston and R-Truth vs. The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O€™Neil); and Epico and Primo vs. Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. The teams are exciting and hungry, with plenty of big enough names to give the tag team division credibility again. So far Team Rhodes Scholars have advanced and will face Santino and Ryder, while Prime Time Players will face Rey and Sin Cara. At a guess Team Rhodes Scholars will face Rey and Sin Cara, with rumours that Rhodes Scholars will take on Kane and Bryan at Hell in a Cell, well the other two also face each other on the PPV card. If the tournament can lead to two high class tag team matches on one PPV, then it will have been a great success.
