WWE: 55 Greatest Superstars Of The 21st Century

By David Noriega /

30. RVD

The whole f'ing show has been at it for a long time. Making a name for himself in ECW, RVD made the jump to the WWE in 2001 in The Invasion angle. One of the leaders of the ECW locker room, he helped lead an attack against the WWE guys in an all out war for control. He quickly became one of the WWF's most popular stars and soon found himself as the Hardcore Champion after defeating Jeff Hardy. Then then later on went on to win the Intercontinental Championship at Wrestlemania 18. Van Damme certainly had a very successful run in the WWE while he was there. However in 2010 he found himself in TNA. His success wasn't as vast in TNA, although he did win their World Heavyweight Championship once. Now Van Damme will be seen making a WWE comeback at the Money in the Bank PPV. Will he win the thing? Probably not but he's sure to entertain us all while trying. Stats: 1 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion 1 time ECW World Heavyweight Champion 3 time WWE Tag Team Champion 6 time WWE Intercontinental Champion 2006 Money in the Bank winner 2 time TNA World Heavyweight Champion 1 time TNA X Division Champion

29. The Big Show

Everybody remembers The Big Show's debut at the St. Valentines Day Massacre PPV back in 1999. To this day that's still one of the coolest moments in wrestling history. Show has played many roles while in the WWE, he's been a monster, a joke and a hero. The one thing that's always stayed consistant with The Big Show is his ability to kick ass. The 7 foot monster uses his WMD to knock out anyone who gets in his way. The Big Show probably never reached his full potential while in the WWE but he's always been a consistant and loyal performer who the WWE should cherish for as long as he continues to lace up his boots. Stats: 2 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion 1 time ECW Heavyweight Champion 1 time WWE Intercontinental Champion 8 time WWE Tag Team Champion 1 time WWE US Champion 3 time WWE Hardcore Champion

28. Daniel Bryan

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Over the past 18 months, Daniel Bryan has transformed himself into a superstar. His recent teaming up with Kane as one half of the team Hell Now was brilliant. Not it seems as if it's going to be used as a springboard for Daniel Bryan to help push him into superstardom. The former Heavyweight Champion is slated for a big push this summer and I can't think of anyone more deserving. Will he beat John Cena at Summerslam for the title? I sure hope so. Bryan has done everything the WWE has asked of him and he deserves to be rewarded. The most technically sound wrestler in the WWE, Bryan has a good match with anyone that he steps into the ring with. Personally I would love to see him reclaim The Heavyweight Belt and when he does, I have no doubt the live crowd will absolutely erupt! Stats: 1 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion 1 time WWE US Champion 1 time WWE Tag Team Champion Money in the Bank winner

27. Kane

Undoubtably the most under appreciated and under utilized athlete of the last 15 years is non other than Kane. Kane has been so good for so long that he tends to get lost in the mix. When Kane did away with his mask, people began to lose interest. It wasn't until he put it back on when people took notice. Teaming up with Daniel Bryan and forming Team Hell No was the best thing that could've happened to him. Not only did they become tag team champions but it helped reinvent Kane as a fun loving moster of destruction. In my opinion Kane falls into the Mark Henry category, they've been so good and consistent for so long that people forget just how great they really are. Both will go down as Hall of Famers one day. In the meantime lets just continue to enjoy the comedy The Big Red Monster continues to provide each and every week. Stats: 1 time WWF Heavyweight Champion 1 time World Heavyweight Champion 1 time ECW Heavyweight Champion 2 time WWE Intercontinental Champion 1 time WWE Hardcore Champion 12 time WWF/E Tag Team Champion Money in the Bank winner 8th Triple Crown Champion 3rd Grand Slam Champion

26. Rey Mysterio

Booyaka! Booyaka! 619! Rey Mysterio has been at the top of his professional for a long time. The undersized Mysterio has never let that stop him from claiming the ultimate prize, The World Heavyweight Championship. One the faces of Smackdown and the latin community, Mysterio has always been one of the WWE's better faces. He's had some epic wars against anyone from The Big Show, Edge and JBL. Rey has always been the underdog but he's never let that slow him down from becoming of the best the WWE has to offer. Rey is now towards the end of his career but if he's able to come back, I'm sure he'll come back with full force 619ing anyone that gets in his way. Come back soon Rey, the WWE needs you. Stats: 1 time WWE Champion 2 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion 2 time WWE Intercontinental Champion 4 time WWE Tag Team Champion 2006 Royal Rumble winner 21st Triple Crown Champion
