WWE: 6 Most Controversial Old School Gimmicks That Are Unacceptable In 2014

3. The Godfather (Pimp)

I could not mention Val Venis without including The Godfather. If Val Venis was meant to make women swoon, The Godfather and his €œHo Train€ were a gift to all male fans from the ages of 8 to 80. Slick was only implied to be a pimp, while The Godfather made it clear. Godfather dressed as if he had direct access to Bishop Don Juan€™s closet. He would come to the ring with at least five hookers, and offer them to his opponent as a peace treaty. Looking back now, it was pretty ingenious. Sometimes his foe would accept the offer, other times The Godfather would lay them out with €œThe Pimp Drop€. The Godfather was the epitome of an attitude era gimmick that is NEVER coming back, no matter how much we enjoyed it. I don€™t see Linda McMahon signing off on anything resembling what The Godfather brought to the table.
