WWE: 7 Failures With Sheamus' Return

4. He Wasn€™t Really That Over To Begin With

I€™m not a big Sheamus fan or anything, but looking at things from an impartial point of view, it€™s a fact that he was lost in the shuffle. He lost a 6-man tag in the opener of WrestleMania, had a throw away feud with Mark Henry, worked the pre-show on Payback and then got hurt right after Money in the Bank. He was just a random guy on the roster, and as we€™ve said, random guys normally aren€™t interesting. Since he wasn€™t interesting, he wasn€™t getting very big crowd reactions. Sheamus was a big babyface, sure, he held the World Heavyweight Championship throughout most of 2012, but any success he had there was left behind, as the crowd didn€™t seem to care about him that much around the time he got hurt. Since it was mostly booking, it wasn€™t the guy€™s fault, but it was still an issue. Considering that the crowd didn€™t care much about him before he left, they didn€™t care much when he returned. Had a decent pop at the Rumble, but he still isn€™t one of the biggest stars of the company. Again, not his fault, but still, the lack of crowd reaction to the man makes his return even more boring.
