WWE Adding Cinematic Bar Fight To The Horror Show At Extreme Rules?
Are WWE calling time on the Sheamus and Jeff Hardy feud at Sunday's pay-per-view?
Sheamus and Jeff Hardy's booze-fuelled feud may end in much the way it started - surrounded by the stench of ale.
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported via an appearance on the Sunday Night's Main Event podcast that there would be three cinematic matches on Sunday's The Horror Show At Extreme Rules. After confirming the Swamp Fight between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman along with Rey Mysterio and Seth Rollins' berserk Eye For An Eye match will get the special effects treatment, he speculated that a Bar Fight between the two could be added.
The SmackDown superstars wrestled a traditional match at last month's Backlash, with Sheamus picking up a clean victory over 'The Charismatic Enigma'. The company have leaned into Hardy's prior issues with drugs and alcohol for the story, dividing the audience on grounds of taste and decency.
Scenes between the pair have included 'The Celtic Warrior' framing the former WWE Champion for a drunken hit-and-run and Hardy throwing a urine sample in Sheamus' face after suggestions he'd fallen off the wagon. A Bar Fight or alcohol-adjacent stipulation subsequently felt like the natural outcome. Expect WWE to confirm it in advance of the pay-per-view itself if it indeed proves to be the plan.
