WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (August 30)

3. Main Event Madness

Wrestling gives us a lot of silly finishes. It€™s part of the fun, and it€™s why we watch. They also give us a lot of non-clean finishes. This usually is to either protect a certain wrestler, or add another wrinkle to a storyline. While main event pay-per-views aren€™t immune from this kind of nonsense, it still sucks when it€™s the done too much. After all, if you watch Raw and SmackDown every week you€™re investing over 20 hours a month into their product. The pay-per-view main event should provide some closure for all that time devoted. WWE couldn€™t come up with a satisfactory finish for Undertaker vs. Lesnar, so we were given a pretty ridiculous ending. When does a timekeeper ever, EVER just decide to ring the bell on their own without a ref€™s decision? Maybe Montreal in 1997? Otherwise, it's not a thing, except for this one convenient situation. SummerSlam gave us some main-event shenanigans, as did Battleground last month, and WrestleMania (as well as a couple others this year, at least no TVs have exploded in anyone€™s face this year!). Basically, everything involving Brock Lesnar won€™t give you a clean finish. For the insane amount of money they€™re paying him for such little work, you€™d expect a little more effort on their end to not book themselves into a no-win situation.
