Stephanie McMahon and Triple H are good in their roles. Theyre convincing actors, draw solid crowd heat, and are generally unlikable characters. They also happen to be the smartest people in the promotion, and thats a big problem. On Raw, the two tricked Roman Reigns into putting up his shot at the title at WrestleMania. Then during a backstage segment they enjoyed a good chuckle at Reigns behind his back, and basically said how stupid he was. So what revenge will Roman get on them? None. The bosses get to look smarter, and the full-time wrestler gets to look like an idiot. At least in the Attitude Era, if Vince Mcmahon McMahon got one up on Steve Austin, Austin would eventually beat him up, destroy his personal property or make him pee his pants. In TV shows and films, its the hero (babyface) outsmarting the villain (heel) at the end of the story. This rarely happens in WWE, which means they have an entire roster filled with talent that we begin to feel pity for instead of looking up to.
