WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (July 26)

Part of the reason why WWE has to rely on special attractions like Brock Lesnar, Undertaker and Sting to sell their big pay-per-views is because they€™ve devalued their own talent over the years so badly that the thought of seeing them in a match does nothing for the average viewer. In The Attitude Era, Vince McMahon wasn€™t scrambling to bring in Jimmy Snuka, Tatanka and King Kong Bundy to main event his pay-per-views, because he pushed his current roster as the hottest wrestlers on the planet. If you watched the pull-apart brawl on Raw, you can see that there are two larger than life personalities surrounded by a bunch of cartoons. Bullfighters, Legion of Doom ripoffs, a Hulk Hogan ripoff (that is now gone, but not because creative realized how stupid it was), three guys that like to clap all the time, and a man who wears a cape and a crown filled our screen. Combined, they couldn€™t hold back a man who first debuted in 1990. This, is our mid-card. This, is why 90% of the content on Raw doesn't matter. As exciting as the brawl was, it was still a stark reminder of how worthless most of the roster is pushed.
