When listening to Billy Corgan on multiple podcasts after being hired by TNA, I had high hopes. The man seems to have a brilliant wrestling mind, but so far, on-screen there hasnt been any brilliant content. In fact, it almost feels like things have got worse. At least a bit more ridiculous. This week on Impact, James Storm finally showed his true colors, turned on Mickie James and shoved her to her death. Okay, so apparently the character is still alive, but this is just one of those things in the vast majority of wrestling promotions you cant do. Yes, over in Lucha Underground they seemed to murder a character last week, but the storytelling methods and vibe of that show are completely different than Impact. Lucha is a hyper-stylized soap opera that seems to almost exist in another dimension. In TNA, they try to be reality based with backstage interviewers wandering around catching unaware wrestlers. You cant introduce homicide (not the wrestler, and where did he disappear to anyway?), on the same show as a barbershop quartet. So what is Magnus going to do now? Hold down Storm's shoulders for a three count to get revenge for the attempted murder of the mother of his child? Well luckily, TNA released a statement updating the fans on Mickies condition. Shes alive with a concussion. Oh yeah, they also said Storms actions were despicable and borderline criminal. Borderline? In what state is pushing a woman off a train platform to her death the equivalent of jaywalking?
