If you went back in time, even a month ago, and thought about what having Alberto Del Rio back in WWE would be like, would you have guessed it would be this boring? So far the pairing with Zeb Colter has been a dud. On their own, the two are fine. Together, there is no chemistry. Its like Paul Heyman with Ryback, or Bobby Heenan with Hercules. There just has to be a better pairing for the two. A few weeks ago it was briefly teased that there was a little friction with the new duo when Del Rio hesitated to give Colter a fist bump. That story hasnt progressed so far. All were left with is a lame, vague mission that theyre going to join Mexico and America together through the power of professional wrestling. What is this story supposed to do? Make liberals happy? Anger xenophobics? I dont get where the heat is supposed to be drawn from. If this is a sign of things to come for Del Rio, then its a shame. His win over Cena should have been treated as a major event, due to how quickly he beat him (and put him on the sidelines?), but its largely been forgotten. After he left WWE he was exciting to watch again in ROH and Lucha Underground. It only took a couple weeks to undo all that. From a monetary standpoint hes probably doing great, from a creative standpoint, he's been a big disappointment.
