WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week (Oct 30)
6. The Impact Main Event
Huh. So THAT’S why WWE never put Brandi Rhodes in a ring.
On Impact, Brandi had her first televised match in a national promotion...well, ever. We probably could have waited a few more years to have seen it happen. She didn’t really display anything that made you think WWE was crazy for not pushing her as an actual competitor.
Brandi was protected, and obviously kept largely from the ring during her Impact match. When she did have some action, she hit a really awkward leg takedown, delivered a couple of weak clotheslines, connected with a drop toe hold where Maria was supposed to land in Mike Bennett’s crotch (they missed by quite a bit) and also struggled to lock in a submission move.
The ending saw the happy babyface couple win, but uh...does no one in management remember that Cody Rhodes doesn’t have a contract with TNA? Yet somehow he’s got over multiple times on Mike Bennett who does have a deal. Just more of your typical TNA nonsense, the kind that never, ever ends.
