WWE Announces NXT: The Great American Bash
The two-week event will counter AEW Fyter Fest.
WWE has revived an old pay-per-view name to counterprogram the upcoming AEW Fyter Fest shows on 1 and 8 July.
As announced on last night's episode of NXT, The Great American Bash will play out across WWE's black-and-gold brand over the next couple of weeks. It'll be the first time that the promotion has used the property since bringing it back for an episode of SmackDown back in 2012. The last full GAB pay-per-view went down in 2008, with WWE retitling it "The Bash" the following year.
The NWA originated the Great American Bash in 1985. It became a staple supercard thereafter, surviving Jim Crockett Promotions' transition to WCW.

Rhea Ripley vs. Aliyah and Robert Stone (Ripley must jin the Robert Stone Brand if she loses)
Strap Match: Roderick Strong vs. Dexter Lumis
A Winner Takes All bout between NXT Champion Adam Cole and North American Champion Keith Lee headlines on 8 July.
This is a clear and transparent attempt at stifling AEW Fyter Fest, though NXT's latest nostalgia trip, TakeOver: In Your House, was a resounding success, primarily for the way it utilised the retro aesthetic. WWE will likely go to similar measures on 1 and 8 July.
