The shows will be part of a series of WWE events in the UK that week, with Raw on May 8 and Smackdown on May 9 being held at London's O2 Arena. Advertised for United Kingdom Championship Live are UK Champion Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang, Trent Seven, Sam Gradwell, Joseph Conners, Mark Andrews, Tyson T-Bone, Dan Moloney, James Drake, Saxon Huxley, and cruiserweight division stars Rich Swann, TJ Perkins, Akira Tozawa, Brian Kendrick, and Tony Nese.

WWE kicked off the United Kingdom division in January with a two-day tournament at Blackpool's Empress Ballroom. The critically acclaimed pair of shows hosted a 16-man tournament to crown the first United Kingdom Champion. In the finals, Tyler Bate defeated Pete Dunne to win the title, and he would later defend the belt against Trent Seven at the February 1 NXT tapings.
