With everything going on in the world right now, WWE's era of Performance Center PPVs continued with Backlash on Sunday night. An event that saw Edge's official in-ring return as he took on an old friend/enemy, Braun Strowman defended his Universal gold against not one but two opponents and the Raw Tag Team Championships weren't even defended in the strangest cinematic match that never was.

When all was said and done, much of the WWE Universe was in awe of what they had just witnessed because, if nothing else, Backlash 2020 was a memorable event. Yes, it certainly succeeded in its goal to entertain audiences... even if it wasn't always for the right reasons.

Samoa Joe has proven to be the best thing to happen to the commentary booth in a long time and fans were once again quick to notice just how great he was at Backlash, praising him for his ability to make even the most menial of tasks sound incredibly exciting.

Others noticed his insanely savage bid to congratulate AJ Styles on his Intercontinental Championship win, subtextually referencing the ancient history between the pair by mentioning his family and throwing in a snarl for good measure.
