The Wrestling Observer Newsletter notes that the reason behind Brock Lesnar's rematch with Randy Orton not taking place at the forthcoming Clash of the Champions PPV may very well be financial.

Lesnar's contract calls for different pay for live events and PPVs, so WWE decided to go ahead with the match in Chicago on September 24th as opposed to the big show in Indianapolis the following night.

The show will not be filmed for the WWE Network.

Reportedly, it was simply a case of WWE asking Lesnar to work the show, and the Beast Incarnate agreed. The newsletter is also reporting that Lesnar chose his own opponent and decided to go with The Viper as he was the best available individual for that night. The feeling is also that Orton/Lesnar II would work as a decent draw for the event, and of course this means more money for Brock.

The news that Brock is choosing his opponents is sure to cause some ripples of anger from WWE fans, but for one-off occasions such as this it surely makes sense. Whether the match is aired on the WWE Network is yet to be confirmed, but here's hoping it doesn't end with Randy Orton's blood again.
