WWE Battleground 2016: 10 Things WWE Got Right

10. Keeping The WWE United States Title On Rusev

As the old saying goes, if it ain't broke don't fix it. WWE should have heeded those words in 2015, but they decided to split Rusev and Lana. The result was an awful period for both, shunted into a lame storyline also involving the likes of Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae. For the past few months, WWE have been trying to set things right.

Re-capturing the WWE United States Title back at Extreme Rules, Rusev has been a worthy champion ever since. Some of his challenges haven't been as strong as some would perhaps like, but the important thing is that he has remained in possession of the gold.

Zack Ryder was his latest opponent at Battleground, and Rusev escaped unscathed. His United States Title reign continues, which can only be considered a good thing. WWE are finally once again doing right by the guy, and there's no need to change anything at the moment.

If the company do give him another mega-lengthy tenure as champ, there's a chance he could be elevated further up the card.
