5. Everyone Agrees: The Show Sucked

Battleground is without question one of the most unanimously-panned WWE PPVs in quite some time, with only a few quiet voices attempting to defend what was basically effortless trash...aside from the opening match.

For some, dismissing it as the worst PPV of 2017 wasn't bad enough: some went further and deemed it the worst WWE PPV they've seen in decades. Wow.

It's worth considering recency bias, though, because as anyone who's seen ECW December to Dismember knows, Battleground absolutely wasn't the worst PPV of all time. December to Dismember still haunts the dreams of anyone who sat through it.

And of course, the comparisons soon enough started coming in to some of WWE's classic PPV blunders over the years...

And if that wasn't bad enough, Battleground was whispered in the same sentence as the inane, nonsensical booking of late-era WCW PPVs. They really need to be seen for themselves, but this wasn't far off.
