WWE Battleground 2017 PPV Coming To Philadelphia In July
WWE gear up for a busy summer with another pay-per-view announcement.
WWE's 2017 pay-per-view calendar is really taking shape, and after last week's news of Bad Blood's return as a Raw-branded show on July 9th, the company have announced that SmackDown's Battleground PPV will take place just two weeks later.
Battleground 2017 will hit Philadelphia, Pennsylvania's Wells Fargo Center on July 23rd, and should be the final pay-per-view ahead of SummerSlam on August 20th. WWE announced the news to the live audience during last night's Monday Night Raw, and pre-sale tickets are already available through Ticketmaster.
Last year's Battleground was one of WWE's most critically acclaimed PPVs of 2016. Highlighted by Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn and Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Championship, it was the combined roster's last show before the brand split was reintroduced, and Ambrose's victory saw the company's biggest belt become a SmackDown exclusive.
