WWE: Brock Lesnar At Elimination Chamber, No CM Punk On Chicago Raw

By Grahame Herbert /

Brock Lesnar could be appearing at the February 23rd Elimination Chamber event, with PWinsider reporting strong speculation that 'The Beast' will be on hand in his hometown of Minneapolis. One man who definitely will not be at the event is CM Punk. Another show which Punk won't be appearing on is the March 3rd Raw from his hometown of Chicago. This news was confirmed after the WWE sent the All State Arena in Chicago a brand new commercial for the March 3rd event. In the material it confirmed Batista and Brock Lesnar would feature, but failed to mention Punk. This shouldn't really come as too much of a surprise given that WWE had already cancelled Punk's April appearances at events such as Axxess. However, it will still come as a bitter disappointment to the passionate Chicago fans who wanted to see their hero €” although the appearance of Brock Lesnar should help ease some of their gripes. WWE could be in for a tricky night with that Chicago crowd. Having witnessed the vocal support they offered Punk at Money In The Bank 2011, the fans could be in open revolt on the night of March 3rd. The WWE should brace itself for loud and continuos CM PUNK chants. There seems little the company can do about that, with the exception of getting the star back, which isn't going to happen as he continues to ignore calls and texts. At least we have good news on the Lesnar front, a surprise appearance at Elimination Chamber possibly to set up his Wrestlemania 30 match would be a compelling bonus to the PPV action.
