WWE Broke Several Big Records At Survivor Series 2022
WWE Survivor Series 2022: WarGames was even bigger than you think.
WWE brought its WarGames stipulation to the main roster for Survivor Series 2022 this Saturday (27 November) - and the show ended up being a record-breaker.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that Survivor Series 2022 drew the largest ever professional wrestling gate in Boston, Massachusetts, breaking seven figures in the process. The event had been a sellout effectively from the moment tickets went on sale. WWE ended up releasing a few hundred extra tickets a couple of days beforehand, though these were immediately purchased by scalpers and sold on the secondary market.
On top of this, the 2022 WarGames incarnation was the most-watched Survivor Series event in history. This isn't necessarily surprising, however, as WWE's premium live events air on Peacock in the United States. Peacock has around 15 million subscribers, up from 9 million this time last year, and the WWE Network has never come close to hitting that number.
Nonetheless, a successful night behind the scenes for WWE.
WWE doesn't currently have another main roster premium live event lined up until next year. With Day 1 cancelled and no show in December, Royal Rumble is up next on 28 January 2023.
