WWE Called Out For SmackDown CONTROVERSY
WWE draws flak following 'DEM BOYZ' post-SmackDown tweet from @WWEonFOX.
The @WWEonFOX account has drawn understandable flak for captioning a phrase that, in a wrestling context, is typically associated with the late Jay Briscoe and brother Mark to Bobby Lashley, Angelo Dawkins, and Montez Ford following last Friday's WWE SmackDown.
Following Lashley's SmackDown victory over Karrion Kross, @WWEonFOX posted:

Mark Briscoe addressed the situation the following day, tagging WWE's Chief Content Officer, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque:
For real?? This s**t is hilarious. @TripleH, whoever runs this twitter should probably be fired for lack of knowledge. Or they need the taste slapped out of their mouth for lack of reverence https://t.co/lQupDA91Ds

In all likelihood, the @WWEonFOX account is run by somebody at FOX, which airs the blue brand every Friday. Nonetheless, Briscoe - who should absolutely not be hounded for his stance in situations like this - clarified things a few hours later. Mark stated that he misses his brother Jay, and "got a little in [his] feelings" when he originally saw the post:
Oh yea, thatsss why I quit posting on Twitter lol. Just logged back on…woww. Some of y’all are wild lol. I just miss my brother, that’s all, and I got a little in my feelings when I seen the Fox post. @tripleh, you ain’t gotta fire nobody, times is tough. Love y’all..take it…

'Dem Boys' has been associated with the Briscoes for years, preceding Jay's tragic passing. Briscoe passed away at just 38 years old on 17 January 2023, when he was involved in a head-on collision, leaving behind his with, Ashley, and their three children.
Mark was signed to an AEW contract in February 2023 and is currently competing in the promotion's ongoing Continental Classic tournament.
